JUNE SEAMAN-KNOERZER, RD, CDN
Registered Dietitian
Certified Dietetic Nutritionist for New York State
AS in Human Services from ECCC, Summa Cum Laude
June Knoerzer owns the nutrition counseling business in Williamsville, NY called Nutrition in Balance. Offering personal counseling services to individuals seeking healthier choices as well as those with specific nutrition concerns, June has the tools to a healthier life and offers personalized nutrition counseling that is based on expertise only a Registered Dietitian can provide.
With a science background, and experience in the kitchen, the art of deciphering nutrition questions and concerns is a natural fit. June got her Bachelor of Science at SUNY College at Buffalo and is currently the Agency Dietitian at Southeast Works Developmentally Disabled Group Homes. Prior to this, June had the opportunity to experience food and recipe analysis while working at ShoptoCook, a recipe kiosk company based in Buffalo New York. While managing the content of the interactive touch screens found in area supermarkets, June discovered a wealth of recipe and photo resources to tap into.
The real pleasure of cooking and all things food related emerged during the six years as a cooking school manager for Tops supermarkets also in Buffalo. The school offered a variety of nutrition education classes for children and adults that are recognized by health maintenance organizations such as Independent Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York and Univera Health care for the preventative health initiatives they offer. In developing these classes June tapped into the needs of the community to teach classes that covered topics ranging from diabetes and heart health to food allergies and healthy eating on the run. The kids classes included a very popular self esteem segment while incorporating healthy eating and how to enjoy the process of preparing a meal.
June serves on the boards for Meals on Wheels of Western New York and the regional dietetics association, WNYDA. She strives to make time for family (especially dinner) while keeping busy coordinating professional programs for area dietitians. As an occasional speaker, June can be found teaching corporate nutrition instruction for United Health and Wellness at area businesses. To keep her hand in the cook pot, you can see cooking demonstrations at Shakti Yoga on Lexington Ave. in Buffalo. Though a new member to BNI, Business Networking International, June is pleased to be a part of this organization. BNI is the answer for reaching those who are looking for a service or product and just needed to know where to go. The Executive Marketing Team chapter of BNI is an excellent source for business referrals in the Western New York area. Look us up sometime and it will be the best hour and half you ever spent.
